Simon Says challenge

Another of my sunshine, this time with Grandma in the background.

I've again used the Teresa Collins Designs Sweet Afternoon colleciton.  It's so pretty and this time I decided to pull out my Prismas and Gamsol and add a bit of colour to the page.

This is before I attacked it....

and this is after....

My bird die, some distress ink, prima bird house and flowers from Polly Scraps and Handmade Halo.

My fave Martha Stewart punch and the Simon Says 'Oh Happy Day 'die.

I've entered this page into the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.

Star of my Heart

One of the sketches this month at Stuck?!

I ♥ this sketch and this is my interpretation.

I've again used papers from Junes A Piece of Cake Designs kit.

That cute star border was cut with a die.

A little star from Charm's Creations.

School photos!

So, that's the challenge this month at Scrap the Boys.  I cringe at scrapping school photos but as I was sorting through them I suddenly knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Can you see the chunk of hair taken out of my babys fringe?

I have used my June kit from A Piece of Cake Designs and love the colours in this kit.

I crack up looking at all of Jords school photos.  The years after he stopped cutting it himself was when he decided to grow it long.  His grade 5 one has what looks like a really long bowl cut and in his grade 6 one he has a mullet.  LOL, at the time it was, whatever, that's how he wants to have his hair.

Sweet Afternoon

My entry in this months Sketches With a Twist.

You also had to doodle on your page, there's not much there, but there is some ♥

In the past I have not enjoyed doing sketches at all, but lately I'm really loving sitting down and having a go at them.
I have used the gorgeous Teresa Collins Sweet Afternoon collection and bits for this page.  I only have 1 page left of this collection and I'm starting to think I may need to grab another pack.  The papers are gorgeous.

The photos on this page are really old and cropped down so a little blurry but I don't care.  It was taken with old Kodak digital which from memory was 2 mp but at the time very modern and exciting.

Now you may not be able to see it, but excuse the eyelash I have across my mouth.  I saw it when I was uploading the pics and couldn't be bothered taking more ☺

Again I've used my Crafters Workshop Template with  embossing powder.  This one is the Lindys Stamp Gang  Twilight Blue Slate.

There's also a couple of dies in here as well, a few bits of washi and some goodies from Handmade Halo and D-Lish Scraps

and speaking of dies, here is a little share I did on the Passion4Paper blog.

I do have something that I absolutely love, to share with you today, and it's my new Artbin Magnetic Die Case.  I have been busting for a decent way to store all my dies for ages and this is it!  Binder rings and draws were OK when it was just the spellbinders but now so many of the Dies are teeny weeny tiny that they get lost in my draw amoung all the others.

I love this little case!  I have 6 magnetic sleeves in mine so far.  The case comes with 3 and there is enough room for 21 sheets!    I love being able to open it and just flick the pages and see exactly the one I want when I need it.

You can see that the sheets are perfect for storing the Spellbinder Nestabilities too!

Simon Says Challenge

My little entry in the Simon Says Challenge this week.

This is the sketch we needed to follow.

and this is my interpretation.

Did you know that Passion4Paper sells Magnolia stamps?  Cute!

I've teamed mine up today with some gorgeous leftovers from my Carta Bella kit.

My little Tilda has been coloured with Tim Holtz distress markers and I am sooo loving using these.  I've tried a lot of different colouring mediums, watercolour pencils, Prismas and Gamsol, and my gorgeous gorgeous Copics, but these are so easy to use.  I can colour an image with the distress markers in 5 to 10 minutes.  The same image can take me 45 minutes to an hour when I use Copics. So far I have only water coloured with these and I am loving the muted effect they give.
I have stamped on Inkssentials Specialty Stamping Paper.  This paper is awesome!  If you are a stamper, this is a must have.  I can't believe the difference in clarity when images are stamped on this.

Enjoy!

Echo Park This and That Charming

I'm back with some more projects, this time featuring Echo Parks, This and That Charming.  I was lucky enough to get this collection in my Design Team pack and I've really loved using it.

I so loved doing this page.  I've used Crafters Workshop Harlequin Template  which is becoming one of my favourite templates.  On this page I have stamped over my template with a VersaMarkWatermark Stamp Pad and used a brown embossing powder.l  I love the look of embossing powder with the templates.

To match the Harliquin theme, I cut some diamonds out of patterned paper that came with this collection.  I also used my Kite die and a border die from My Favourite Things Dienamics.

I tied all this together by adding some Honeydew twine as the kite string and using the tail to form part of my title.
The scallop shape that is behind the photo is a small journal square that I cut from a piece of the paterned paper in the collection.  By cutting this in half I was able to add it to each end of the photo and it looks like I've used a large piece.  It's just one way you can use up some of those little journal bits that comes with the collection and the bonus is a cute die cut matt.

The second page I've done is from the same kit.  There is so much in these collections, they're awesome.  The photo is of my husband and I think he is absolutely charming, so the title was perfect.
So first up, can you see all that gorgeous blue I've got around the page and on anything else I could stick a little ink on?  Awesome colour!  And of course, another fave.  It's the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Peacock Feathers. Oh wow.  The colour is gorgeous and I've already gone back to Passion4Paper and got my new Summer Distress Ink Collection.  It has PINK!!  PINK Distress Ink!
So, I got a little sidetracked ☺

I've used a rosette die, which are great fun to use, and also my Kite die from My Favourite Things Dienamics again.  The twine on this page isCarribean.

I finished my page off with some the the stickers that come in the collection.  The yellow sticker is a circle I've cut in half, again to give it a different look and by layering them all together it gives the page dimension and adds interest.

And just because it's me, and it's what I do, here's a couple of quick cards to finish off using the same kit.

I still have heaps of stickers and paper left for this kit, they really are the best value and great fun to play with.
Gorgeous too!
