Carta Bella for dudes

I've got another share here using the Carta Bella Beautiful Moments Kit.
Although the kit is very feminine, this time I decide to try and go for a more masculine look.
A couple of the papers in the kit can be used for either gender and I
grunged it up a bit to make it more boy like.
Both the brown spotted base paper and the distressed spotty paper
are from the kit.

I have swiped random streaks of Gesso across the middle of my
page and highled the embelishments and around the photo
with Gelatos.

The heart has been cut out of Tim Holtz tickets with a Tim Holtz
mover shaker die.  I have used one of these cute little pins on the
heart and wrapped it in twine.
The little cards are Kaisercraft and I have just spied some similar
ones in the store.  These look awesome.

The little butterflies have been cut with a My Favorite Things die.
I coloured some scrap paper with the Gelatos and then run
it through the big shot.

I have used distress inks on this page, starting with Frayed Burlap, then

My Silhouette Cameo rocks!

Today I'm sharing with you a few projects that I have made using
my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine.

This machine is so awesome.  I love what it can do.

This first share is of some invites I made for one of my sisters
upcomming wedding.

IMG_1267
It took no time with the Silhouette to cut out all of the
invites.  The hardest part is picking which design to use.

IMG_1271

Have a look on this card here at how clean the Silhouette
cuts.  The leaves in this design are quite intricate and yet
they look seemless and there is no way I could have done
this by hand.  I used Distress inks, Peeled Paint, Spiced
Marmelade and Broken China on Speciality Stamping Paper
and then adhered my cut out design to this.
IMG_1359

This little owl pillow box took less that ten minutes to make
and that included making the buttons and felt eyes.
I used dies to cut out the felt and inked around the edge of
his beak.
This design does come with eyes and a beak but I wanted to
add a bit of dimension to my box.

IMG_1353

I have used a piece of cardstock from my Carta Bella kit for
the design and it literally took a minute to do.
I purchased the design and a few seconds later it was downloaded
into my library, 30 seconds to cut it out, and then all I had
to do was peel the design off the cutting mat, fold along the
perforated edges and add a bit of glue.  Super easy and super
quick.
They'd make cute little party loot bags.

IMG_1352

The doily shape and the vine like leaves I made in this layout have been
cut using the Silhouette as well.

I'm so impressed with my Silhouette and am using it all the time.

It's nice not to have to buy a cartridge that I only want for one or
two designs.  I've seen online that there are some creating their
own cut files for the Silhouette but so far I have been buying my
in the Silhouette store.  I have a subscription with them now and it's
awesome value.  Plus every week as well as a free design there
is a pile of designs that get put on sale at half price.  The machine
also comes with a library of designs and also a $10- gift card to
spend in the Silhouette store.

I've been learning this week how to cut out stamped images with it!
I love it so much ♥

I love My Minds Eye

This is a photo of our sons gorgeous cat, Eevee, she was named after a Pokemon.
I really enjoyed having a bit of a play with this My Minds Eye Indie Chic Ginger.  I've done
a little bit of fussy cutting, which I haven't done for ages.

My page and elements have all been inked with Distress Ink, Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge.
Gorgeous doily hey!  Cut with my Silhouette.

Eevee

Ive used some cute little crochet flowers and some white roses that have  been
sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang.
are an awesome way of altering things to match the colours in your papers.

Eevee3

My leaves I have die cut with my Silhouette and sprayed....with Lindy's Stamp Gang again ☺
I sprayed them with Luscious Lime and heat dried them.  Once dry, I
sprayed again but this time with Glory of the Seas Gold.

Eevvee2

I made a card up as well and love the clean look of this.
I have used my new toy.  A crop-a-dile corner chomper tool!
Awesome ☺
It completly changes the look of the card.  I've often struggled in the past
to get my corners all the same size and am loving that I bought this. ♥
The corner chomper cuts 2 different sizes of corners.

Card2

There is an awesome video, right here, that shows you how to make the rosette.

Are you a member of the Passion4Paper Facebook page?
I would love to see some of the prettys that everyone has been making.
Enjoy!

Another sketch

The 2nd sketch from Stuck?!

The paper and elements on this page are from Simple Stories and I got the
kit a while ago but not used it yet.  I can't remember where I got
it from but I know I searched for ages before I found it. It's awesome.
♥ it

I have heaps of these photos.  Jords first day of school and all I wanted was
a photo.  Just one nice photo, with a nice boy, with a nice smile.
Didn't happen.  If I remember correctly he was pretending to be
the Hunchback of Notredame.

They make me smile ☺

A sketch

Have been a bit busy with a couple of things but
this month I did have time to do both the sketches at Stuck?!

I've used some of my gorgeous October Afternoon
kit for this page and a photo from 1997 of my
little possum chowing down on a tomato.

Love all the little fur babies in this range.

Where has the past 15 years gone?

and the criteria for this leg
♥ white space
♥ cool colour scheme
♥ texture, I have used an embossing die, twine and the large letters are fabric

I pulled out of of my A Piece of Cake kits for this page
cause the colours were perfect.

This frame and the border piece I have cut using my Silhouette Cameo.

I love love love it ♥

I love this little Wplus9 butterfly die
cause it's so different to
any other I have used.
The wings remind me of little hearts.

I do remember this like it was yesterday too!
I just can't believe how fast time can go.

Race Around the World part 2

Another wedding photo ♥ and another of my faves.
Sometimes I look at a wedding pic and it seems like I've scrapped it before,
 but I know I haven't.
I just have a couple of thousand wedding pics and
and am just working my way through our photographers stack.

Teresa Collins papers, Prima and some more
 prettys from
Handmade Halo.

My Race Around the World

and am loving it.

The first challenge I was really out of my comfort
zone.  We started in Australia and I've always
struggled with using our colours and australiana.
The criteria for this stop was

♥ use Aussie slang on your layout.
♥ include an Aussie image or Aussie animal
♥ use a border punch or scallops to represent the large iconic
structures (opera house, ulura, rugged coastlines)

I really did struggle at first.
I had made the sun with texture paste and
an embellie from Charm but I couldn't get past that.
I decided to swap photos and with the green
in the pic here of Gaz, with the camel at
Australia Zoo, it just started coming together.

ewww....camel spit!

Love this Prima flourish.

Our next challenge was a detour with the following criteria,

♥ Scrap a layout or 3 card set with either a postage stamp,
envelope or some hidden journalling to get
your letter sent to your loved ones and get you back in the race.

I love how my page has turned out.  Some more
gorgeous My Minds Eye from my stash.

Lots to look at.  One of my Prickly Pear bird
stamps.  Some wings cut with La La Land dies.  My little
envelope stamps and die cut envelope and some
hearts from Wplus9.  A little card from Kaisercraft.

Plus some goodies from Handmade Halo.

A Prima zip thingy and bird.
And my boy ♥

This next leg of the challenge, we're off to Asia.
I've got Japan and am yet to make a start on it.
Not even an idea yet.

Enjoy

19 September 2012

I have another love ☺

I just can't help it.
Everything is too pretty!

I bought myself a Silhouette Cameo machine and OMG!  love love love.

This is my first try with it and so love the silhouette images.  I so love the
clean cuts this machine gives.
and I so love that I can purchase individual images
and they're available as I buy.

My first card here is a pretty simple one, a few distress inks in the
background, a splash of water and my cut image.
The little butterflies are from a MFT die.

Clean and simple.

I had an awesome week last week.  My excellent machine arrived.
Also, the week before I submitted a few pages to my fave mag and I
got 3 acceptances.
Was very excited.
I haven't submitted for a few years cause last time I was doing a
bit in the mags and some DT work I lost my
mojo and I blamed it on losing my reason for scrapping.
 It lost it's enjoyment.
Anyways, over that now and thought I'd try again.

I have done heaps of crafting lately and every time I get better at keeping my
blog up to date, I let it lapse again.

At the moment I'm taking part in Scrapbooking Top 50 Race Around the World.
It's quite different than any other challenge I've taken part in and am
loving it.  Will post my first 2 entries up here in the next couple of days.

I'm also doing an ATC swap with Aussie Scrappers Society and I have not
made one of these for ever!
I forgot how much fun they can be once you
get an idea in your head.  Can't post picks of
that one yet though.

I've tried some mixed media cause loving
all the prettys everyone's making, and although not really happy
with what I'm doing, I'm loving playing.  I'm loving it so much
that I've just booked in at A Scrappe Angels Heaven to do
4 classes with Finnabair in March.
 That's a bit exciting too ☺

29 August 2012

I ♥

Wplus9 but I seem to say that about every product I use lately.

All these gorgeous goodies, who can resist.

I have a card that I have made for my first ever entry into Just Add Ink challenge 132.

I've bought heaps of these awesome stamps and dies.  Love them heaps and heaps.
I got the cutest fish set that I'm hoping to have a play with
this weekend, but there's always too
many distractions on the www lately.

So, this is the sketch

and this is my cad.

The scallopy dies I've used here are from My Favorite Things Dienamics.

Hump day is almost over which means nearly one day til the weekend.
Can't get here fast enough if you ask me.
