kaisercraft scrap off

Had a great day on saturday. Great fun, awsome company and beautiful papers. I didn't make it to the final 5 but was definately worth doing. I was in the top 14 for my initial beyond the page entry and then I was in the top 10 for the layout round. We only had 30 minutes to do this in and it was quite nerving at 1st. Knowing that we had to work so fast was bad enough but then we'd be concious of the camera going past because the day was filmed. The last round i did was a btp book, 8 pages and 60 minutes to complete. Worked as quick as i could but know way i could get it finished, was hard trying to work out what to do with it in that amount of time too.
The final 5 did an great job of their layouts. The poor ladies had a room full of people watching them and again the cameras were filming. As a challenge for myself i decided i was going to do a layout in the papers that they used on the day and only give myself 30 minutes to do it. I failed, it took me 40 minutes (the stitching took me 10 minutes so i should have left that off)- although for me this is still a triumph cause i push and shove things around my pages sometimes for days before i stick them down. Not my favourite page ever but gorgeous papers and again my gorgeous nephew laughing for the camera.

Your BTP was awesome Ros. As you mentioned it would be funny to have the Kaiser staff up there as I just don't know if I could do a layout underpressure in 30 minutes.
Well done - and glad you had a great day

Phew, you had a BIG DAY Ros, and congrats to you for making it so far.I am afraid I am like you in that I push things around for a while before sticking it down, but I reckon it would be good to try to push yourself. The filming sounds a bit scary, and that would have made me worse.Love your LO Sweetie and I can't wait to see these papers IRL...they look fab

Congrats on making the top 24! What an amazing effort. I could never enter as I would just freak out and would never be able to do a layout in 30 mins as I too take days playing around with a layout before finally sticking it down lol

Yout layout is fantastic and love the papers and great job on the stictching!

Hey Ros,
Thanks for your comments!
I also really liked your idea for a Kaisercraft staff round, I'd be up for that! I passed the idea on to Al Wood (marketing) and she loved it too. So, I guess we have to wait and see if the idea takes hold, cross fingers...

Hey Ros,
Good on you for having a go. And yes Julie is the lady in the photo on my blog. God Geelong is a small place. She said she saw you out having tea recently.
I love Julie. She is the best thing that happened to me work wise. When she came into the shop to apply for the Kennys position a while ago, her presence was vibrant and easing to me. lol. I just knew she was right for the job and she is. You will have to drop into the store and say hi.
