A reindeer and an art journal page for Scrap FX

Getting so close to Christmas and I'm running out of time for everything.
Might be a bit sad to admit but this little cutie I made this weekend, is the only decoration I have in my house this year.
I started with the 3D Reindeer and gave it a coat of gesso.  Once dried I have added 4 different colours of paints.
I used my poscas to colour the Holly Spray and gave it a bit of a sparkle with some clear embossing powder.
Was such a simple project but I love him.
It's also nice to have at least one christmassy thing in my home.

This page started with using the left over paints from my reindeer.  I've added to is some torn pieces of Sketchings No. 2 by Michelle Logan collage paper. These rice paper sheets are so awesome to use.
To the central focal point  I have adhered some wings from the Wings Transparency with matte medium.  My title was done the same, this time from the Teen Advice Transparency.  I painted the back of this in fuchsia before sticking to the page.
You will also find on this page the Line Marking Stamp, Target Stencil and the Triangle Collage Stamp.

Not really a christmas canvas for Scrap FX

Today's project is not what it was meant to be.
I was so excited to order the Decorative Antlers when I saw them.  I have made Christmas canvases in the past and thought they'd be perfect for another.  Thing is, once I started building up layers, it turned into an everyday piece.
The antlers have been coloured with posca pens and the Mini Feathers have been heat embossed with shabby chic embossing powder.
I used a sharpie and posca pen to add the ears and eyes with the Create a Unicorn stencil.
If you look between the the antlers you can see that I have lightly stamped in grey ink the Chicken Wire stamp.  This was just to add a little more interest to the background.
I has all been build up with die cuts and flowers from my stash, with no holly or red nose anywhere.

Circle of Love and a journal page for Scrap FX

Hi, I'm continuing with the Family theme for my page today.  My nephew Eli and his newborn brother Murphy.  So cute and a loving a big brother.

I started by stamping the Doodle Star stamp around my page in a couple of different colour inks.   I have shared a photo of my sand eraser.  I am such a messy crafter and always have smudges of ink or glue on my pages and this is my go too tool for removing them.
The larger stamps have been coloured on top with a Colour Blast glitter marker and the smaller ones have been painted with Stickles.
I have altered one of the Ribbon Adornments to make a frame around my photo and cut it out so that the ribbon sits around the top of it.
The white bubbly look on my chipboard was obtained by first doing a coating of Colour Blast Snow White embossing powder and then a white embossing powder on top.  Complete accident but I love the look and it's going into my must do again list.
I used distress ink on the Lace Tag set and coloured the chipboard pieces, #family (#circleoflove), Seeing Stars and Giraffe, with Posca pens.

For my next project, I forgot to take step by step photos but hope you can see all I've used here.  A mixture of lots of goodies.
Penelope has been coloured with Posca pens and then adhered in my journal with matte medium.  I added a couple of white highlights to her lips but everytime I look at her all I see now is a vampire (def. not deliberate lol).

Family for Scrap FX

Hi, welcome to my family themed page today.
This page started by making some circles around the page.  I traced around the circle stencil and then moved it slightly and repeated until I had 3 circles for each one.
I can't tell you how much I love this template.  It's my absolute favourite thing at the moment.  I've always loved using circles on my projects but can not draw them no matter how hard or little I try.  I usually end up pulling out the silhouette machine and using it to draw them.  This stencil makes it so much easier.
I've coloured the circles with distress inks.  Then I splashed on some water and blotted it off after a couple of minutes.  I then drew some messy stitching around each circle.
The Family Branch chipboard piece has been heat embossed.  I then masked off the embossed sections so that I could embellish the little birdies.  For this I added some Stamp and Bond to the birds, heated it and added some flocking (really stash busting for that).  I loved it so much that I did a little heart from the Duo Hearts chipboard pack for the bottom of my page.
I used the chicken wire stamp to add more interest to the layout.  I have also die cut some white card with a Colour Blast die and poked it around my photo.

Hope you've all been inspired ♥
